श्री गजानन गणपती विषयी

Shri gajanan ganapati

श्री गजानन गणपती विषयी

Lord Ganesha is the "adya" daivat meaning he is worshiped ahead of everything in any ritual. This deity has the trunk of human and head of an elephant. The reason why he is worshiped first is also  linked to the story of why he is an elephant-headed god. When bal-ganesh in all-human form was killed by Shri-Mahadev, godess Parvati was very upset, so Lord Shiva gave life to the dead with the head of an elephant which was nearby (read more in Adhyatmik Stories). Upon getting new life bal-ganesh was blessed with many boons, among which was the one from his parents that his name is invoked before any other God’s name. The name Ganesh also means the chief (eesha) of all the servers (ganas) of Lord Shiva.

Lord Ganesh has mouse as his vehicle. There are many symbolisms that we human beings should achieve in our life. With his elephant ears we should hear good things keenly, we should be fast and agile in our tasks as his vehicle mouse. Lord Ganesha is also said to have written the epic Mahabharata upon the narration by Maharshi Vyas.

Mantra

Mantras are usually of Sanskrit origin, which are power-packed formulas, highly compressed and charged with a magical potency and deep meaning. Mantras can be a word, a sound or a phrase. It helps in elevating or modifying consciousness by its meaning, rhythm, tone, sound and the reflexology of the tongue against the palate of the mouth when saying the mantra.

All deities have a certain mantra or chanting associated with them. Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha is the Ganesh Mantra associated with Lord Ganesh – the elephant headed deity. Chanting of this mantra is associated with calling of the powerful energy of Ganesh, the Remover of Obstacles and the Lord of Beginnings.

Ganesh Mantra

Meaning:

O Lord Ganesha, the one with a large body, curved trunk and brightness of million suns, please always remove all the obstacles in my work.

It helps in calming the person and bringing overall positivism in life. The Ganesh mantra brings a sense of well-being in the life of the person.
Specifically, one can benefit with material gains such as
any obstacle removals; improvement in work-capacity and productivity; healthier lifestyle; balanced and improved relationships; solutions to financial issues; preventions of any "agantuk" or  sudden and unexpected changes in life. The Ganesh mantra makes one's life smooth.
Along with this, one can also enjoy spiritual benefits like purifying mind; increased focus; deepening level of meditation, positivism and feeling of peace and happiness.

How to Practice Ganesh Mantra
Although chanting the Ganesh mantra is beneficial in any form, the benefits can be maximized by making changes in the prayer routine. The following adaptations can be made which will help:

Ensure that you are chanting while sitting in a comfortable position with your eyes closed. Focus on deep breathing – inhaling and exhaling and chant the Ganesh Mantra at least 11 times. The chant should be repeated 21, 51, 71, 91 or 108 times. For immediate results, multiples of 108 are considered the best. You can count the chants on fingertips, for numbers greater than 108, a rosary orjapa mala can be used. Beads help in counting the number of chants and allow you to focus on the mantra. Once the recitation is complete, remain calm and you can feel the changes in mind and body. Remain seated for some time after the recitation of mantras are completed.
